good speakers under $200? for gaming, content creation

kofman13

Looking for recommendations for a good pair of speakers under $200. not 2.1, dont want a separate subwoofer. Right now budget doesnt allow for something like yamaha HS8(or5) and an external audio interface. need Something that packs a punch for gaming but also is not too colored and neutral so i can use it for audio production and video editing as well.

CPU: Intel 5820K OC 4GHZ | RAM: 16GB Corsair | GPU: ASUS STRIX 1070 8GB OC | Samsung EVO 980 500GB

I wasn asking because you can get a solid pair of headphones for that much that would do a better job gaming whilst being good enough for audio and video work. If they don't want headphones then fair enough but I thought I'd ask.

The HS series from Yamaha are extremely neutral, to the point where they're boring and lifeless for listening to music and gaming, great for producing music though for that exact same reason.

If you're on a strict budget is suggest picking up some old bookshelf speakers as high quality passive speakers are pretty much given away constantly (look them up before you grab them) and then using a power amplifier to get them working. Will sound better than most ''hifi" offerings at a similar price point
