Epic Games Store Recommendations (please read post)

Aereldor

Hey guys, looking to put this $10 coupon to good use.

  • Game has to be on the Epic Games Store
  • Has to be $14.99 or more so I can use the coupon
  • Has to either be an Epic store PC exclusive like Control or Journey (timed exclusives) or deeply discounted, like 50% off or more.

Looking forward to hearing your recommendations for what I should play.

Made a post saying I was considering Telltale Batman or one of the Quantic Dream games, but I didn't make it clear enough and got good, but very broad recommendations.

Currently my top pick is Control!

definitely seconding control.

metro exodus? not sure if it is on the steam store now.

also, FYI using the coupon will grant you another coupon.

its like whenever you purchase, you get another 10 off, but becasue u used a 10 off, its pretty much just discount + 10$ off every purchase, so you dont really need to hold on to the coupon like its the last one ever.

stuff is cool. stuff that has fancy lighting is cooler. stuff that has fancy lighting and works is the coolest.

i game so i know a bit abt gaming tech, not much abt professional tech.

Oh, good to know. I do only want to buy one game though, seeing as I have to spend a minimum of $5 per game. Steam regional pricing makes games really cheap where I live.

What did you like about Control? I figured I would like it since I liked Portal...

personally, steam is my main girl, and i aint touching anything else. other than games that gotta be activated on another launcher(GTA, Uplay), i dont use anything else.

howveer, out of everything that might ever pull me over the ledge, control is the frontrunner,

RTX, apparently a great story, good gunplay, and (psychological horror?) are all pros, and i cant really think of any cons either.

anyway, i do think epic has a refund available though, check that out and maybe you can just try out control to see if you like it

Satisfactory is a great game if you like building type games (think Anno/Minecraft kind of hybrid).

Control is very repetitive and the story is Hollywoody trash.

Metro Exodus is absolutely phenomenal.

I haven't played Detroit Become Human, but people say it's really good.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is pretty damn good and has tons of content.

GTA5 is 14.99 right now and, well... it's GTA5.

Close to the Sun, State of Decay 2, World War Z, the 2nd Ghost Recon, and Predator Hunting Grounds are all garbage so don't buy those.

Ryzen 1600x @4GHz

Asus GTX 1070 8GB @1900MHz

Asus Prime X370 Pro

Samsung 860 EVO 500GB

Noctua NH-U14S

Seasonic M12II 620W

+ four different mechanical drives.

I'll start with something I think might be the best advice:

Outer Wilds - it's called GOTY 2019 by some - check out the link, haven't played it myself (yet!) but the guy is VERY convincing. Just be patient with slow pacing in the beggining section of that part of the video ;). Just note he dedicated almost 20% of the actual video time to it in a top10 video. Says a lot. Comment section does so as well.

Moving on...

I got Control with DLC (2 separate purchases, both discounted) - out of curiosity, to formulate my own opinion on it.

Got Beyond: 2 Souls and Heavy Rain for the very same reason, as I never played those.

Metro Exodus is hella good.

Check out Hades, might be up your alley - Supergiant Games games have their own, unique vibe ;).

Jedi: Fallen Order is on historical low with the coupon now.

RDR2 is almost as cheap as it was in January on GMG.

Subnautica is cheapest since it was free on Epic.
