I have a Samsung SH-B123L/BSBP blu ray player. I have looked everywhere for the drivers for the optical drive with no luck. Does anyone know where I can find drivers for this so I can install my game?

There's usually no drivers. You just connect the SATA data and power cable to your drive and your Windows should detect it right away.

I know that they are not relevant in this day and age of computers but I had GTA V pc edition thrown in with a pc case and my pc is not showing that there is a dvd drive installed at all and I have it connected via sata. How can I fix it? It was free so I might as well make use of it.

Just provide its 'hardware ID' from the 'device manager  -> other devices' then I'll provide you its driver. (It could be found under the 'other devices' if it is not installed ) Here's the guide to doing so: https://www.freeprintersupport.com/find-printers-hardware-id/

No, it doesn't help - this is not showing any hardware ID, it is blank. Anyway, try this solution and report back to me again:  https://www.techsupportall.com/fixed-solved-cd-drive-not-found-not-detect-remove-upper-and-lower-filter/

The last option is to update the driver through Windows update, here is how:

Neither of these helped. There is no Upper and Lower Filters located in the location mentioned by the article above and I have tried both windows update and Samsung's page to find the correct drivers. Any other ideas?

OK. Now, make sure your "device installation setting" is set to automatically. Also unplug and then re-plug the CD drive cable from the back of the CD drive and then reboot your computer. Check if it is starting to detect, otherwise provide your device manager's screenshot with me.

Are you using limited internet access? With modern games you have to redeem key with the platform you are gonna use. Besides that, DVD version of GTA V will need to download updates anyway.

The setting was already turned on. I have already tried to unplug and replug in the sata port. Nothing has worked. below is a snapshot of my device manager showing all devices including the hidden ones.

Like I said I received the games with the case and I was going to use the 7 install disc it came with. I was going to play it as is.

I uninstalled the cd/dvd portion and restarted the computer and hoped it would recognize it but nothing worked. I got that idea from another forum.

Good luck with that. Is the drive recognized correctly in BIOS? Since Windows should use PnP drivers to support basic functionality, your issue could be because of faulty SATA or power cable, SATA port or even disabled SATA controller.

OK, if it doesn't work then go to your BIOS settings and check if it is detecting there or not as said by @LogicalDrm If it is not detected in BIOS then try to change your SATA power cable, please change it and replace them.

That's what I though. But its the same thing going on in my wife's computer. I'm happy to just but the game but what's the point of having a blu ray player if it doesn't work. I have an asus board. Where would it be located?

It seems like a hardware issue in drive, because if it is detected by the PC but cannot install its driver then its should look like this:

Or if your PC detects it and installs the driver then it should look like this:

Ok. I'm still lost. Thank you for trying to help.

Eventually, my diagnosis is this: Your CD drive is not detected by your computer due to hardware issue either in your sata cable or in the drive itself, based on your device manager or BIOS status.

Which tab would I find its located in the BIOS?
