Repeater Question

so the general signal situation at my parents house is terrible and im hoping to extend range towards their backyard.

 

now theres wifi repeaters and dect repeaters and id need both

 

BUT i was hoping for some all in one solution and wondering wether or not i could use and "old" router to do both

 

Biggest problem with all that is that they are bound to using the crappy telekom hybrid router and i have no clue if it`ll play ball

 

i think wifi repeating shouldnt be a problem with it but i got no clue how dect repeating works.

 

anyone with knowledge on it please help me figure out a cheapish setup for both dect and wifi in their backyard

I know nothing of DECT (could google but haven't) - I have used Repeaters, not sure why this isn't a solution you wouldn't use?  Repeaters are fairly inexpensive for what you are getting.

 

The only thing I know of why NOT to use repeaters is they are/can be security issues.  Example - my company wont run repeaters, we install new Cisco access point 

 

And being that repeaters are different depending what you buy, you find one meeting your "range" amplification desires and try that.  Hell you can have repeaters connect to repeaters etc to router and still access internet.

Kind of a general video. Whether or not your specific routers/access points will work depends on the settings they have available

Dect is a seperate wireless signal protocol commonly used for phones (landline phones u know)

jesus christ if im asking specifically about dect reapting and you dont know what dect is then why bother responding just to say that you dont know what it is.

also the shit is literally called speedport hybrid. there nothing to it other than it being a shitty excue for a router with an even shittier excuse for an operating system.
