What does reset with keep my files get rid of?

I wanted to reset a laptop for a friend and wondering what resting with keep files will get rid of. Will it get rid of things like word?

resetting with keep files will delete all aplications but keep saved files like word documents/ photos etc

Replace the fear of the unknown with curiosity!

If i make a back up of the pc will word be backed up and saved?

yes microsoft word will be deleted

depends on what type of backup

 

is its file history backup then no, just the files will be saved

 

if it is a system image back up, everything will be saved (system setting, accounts, apps, documents)

Thank you for the help. I will probably just re buy it or use Microsoft office online.
