HELP!!!

today while i was playing the division 2 on my 3440x1440 monitor with a 5700xt and R5 3600 my pc turned off 2 times i noticed that one of the times my gpu was at 80c then the second time i put the game at low everything it still turned off, any ideas of what it could, also noticed my gpu was at 1200mv at 2070mhz. is that normal?

if you have an unstable overclock for either, your cpu or gpu, your computer will simply turn off.

 

set your gpu to 2035 mhz and see if that fixes your problem, the rx 5700 xt should be able to handle that with no stability issues

2070 mhz doesnt sound very out of box for a rx 5700 xt

i kid you not when i opened the radeon experience thing it said that at 1200mv that was its target. i literally had to undervolt it

rx 5700 xt's usually run extremely hot, so most people undervolt them, but i really wouldnt have the frequency any higher than 2000 mhz for stability

600w is plenty for an rx 5700 xt

might of been a heat issue, only time i encountered a heat issue is when i was doing some extremely unsafe stuff with my processor, testing how high i could oc it, apparently stock cooling couldnt handle it too well and the processor reached 110c

i thought that too so i took msi afterburner and set the gpu fans at 100% as i run my cpu and case fans at 100% since i dont care much about acoustics and it shut off too

just to be safe try setting your gpu to 1900mhz and you cpu to 3.4ghz

also i thought it was my outlet as we been having weird electric which fried my brother's mobo and his girl power brick but when i undervolted and it stopped i thought it might've been the psu as someone asked me

thats the thing they are brand new that i havent fiddled around with o'cing

is the system running hot? Make sure u have a good case fan and that the cpu is running cool

Cpu never goes pass 50

I doubt the GPU is overheating. I only have experience with one AMD GPU and that was an R9 390, an MSI model. It would run hot in some games and get noisy. From what I understand is that it's normal and ok for the 390 to get up to 80 or 85 degrees Celsius. I heard AMD cards tend to run hot and loud. So I doubt that has changed with the new cards. 

 

It's why I went back to Nvidia. Nvidia cards usually run quiet, cool and better.

yes the wattage is enough but that is really low and poor quality unit. i would get a better one before something else happens.

no they dont run any hotter than other gpus. people just usually buy a gpu with low end cooler, and that is why they run hot. and 2070mhz is normal. since radeon works like that.

The rx 5700 XT boosts itself as high as it can without exceeding thermal and voltage limitations. and i doupt that the card is overheating since the gpu would have slowed itself down. seems like psu issue. try with better quality unit.

if its not thermal throttling or not getting enough power then it could be a driver issue, amd drivers tend to be a little dookey

yeah most aftermarket cards have fixed the heating issue, but im talking about the original amd radeon rx 5700 xt.
