Hello, i have a Sennheiser GSP 300, and my headphone jack no longer works properly. I have to wiggle it around to get all the frequencies correct and it is getting progressively harder to do so. My question is will this work? https://www.amazon.ca/Fancasee-Replacement-Solderless-Connector-Microphone/dp/B0827ZL5KK/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?keywords=headphone+jack+repair&qid=1590182982&sr=8-2-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEyMjc0RzRNWUE3M1IwJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwMzE3ODE5MTZQOTBPTUJORFY3VyZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwODE2NDIzMzBJMVZEM1E5MkpLWiZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX2F0ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU=

I am wondering because my jack has only 2 rings (the mic is separate) and the one i liked has 4. Could I just leave the Mic pin empty and will it work properly?

That will only help if your headphone male jack is the broken one, if the female port on your device is busted that wouldn't help at all, besides, the wires in headphones are so thin I doubt something like that would help. Unless you want to open up the headphones and replace the whole cable don't think you've got many options (if it is the male side that's broken)

It is the male that is broken. I have to shift the wire around if i want to hear audio. I have googled tutorials, and it doesnt look too hard.

Here is an example. I would just rather not solder, so I was wondering if i could use that. The only problem is it has 4 pins, whereas my jack has 3.

I wouldn't use a terminal breakout. The wires are too thin for the terminals, there is no strain relief, it is a heavy plug that may not fit in many ports.

You really need to solder on a new one.

Be aware though it may not be at the plug either, you can get breaks along the cable so while you're wiggling the plug it may actually be the flexing/twisting further up the cable that is affecting it.

I am almost certain that it is the plug. If i keep the jack itself still, and wiggle the cord, nothing happens. It is only when i move the rubber that covers the jack that my audio beings to crap out

Thank you for the advice, i guess i will order a soldering pen

I will also recommend to solder a new plug, however if you are not that familiar with soldering I would give to someone to do it instead because it is quite tricky to solder the fine gauge wire which is in the headphone cable. You can easily burn the wire if you don’t know what are you doing.
