Questions of about VESA mounts

Donut417

Im thinking about upgrading my desktop monitor setup from 1x 21:9 and 1x 16:9 monitors to a single 32:9. However I want to keep the 21:9 monitor to use as a secondary monitor for my Plex server and my MacBook Pro. My desk won't hold both monitors. However I have an upper shelf that I think I can use a clamp based VESA mount to hold the monitor. I just need to know if it would be possible to clamp down on this shelf.

This is the back support of the shelf

Thats under the front shelf support.

Would it be ok to mount a VESA mount there? The plan is to get a mount with a bit of length in the arm and angle the monitor downwards.
