2600x with b550??????

I currently have a b450m with a 2600x and have been wanting to upgrade to a full atx motherboard and was wondering if the b550 is compatible with the 2660x??

B550 isn't compatible with 2nd gen CPUs, so you'll have to upgrade your CPU at the same time.

so b550 boards are just going to have 3000 cpus on their bios and nothing else? that seems kinda wired since their release  is in June and  not later in the year with zen 3 which is coming out in the fall

Just wait and see. AMD has been pretty lenient on saying things like this and motherboard manufacturers doing the complete opposite

The B450 and X470 part is different but the B550 and X570 are the same.

 

This article after the change about B450 and X470 still says 2nd gen isn't supported by B550.
