Alrighty, so I got some Noctua NF-P14s redux-1500 PWM fans as new case fans, but they are running quite loud and its annoying when they keep ramping up. So I am planning to return these fans and get some other ones. I was thinking the Noctua NF-A14 PWM fans. Can anyone who has them comment on noise, or can anyone suggest better case fans for around the same price please. I was also planning on grabbing two Noctua NF-F12 PWM fans, one as a case fan (theres one spot on my case for a 120) and the other as an additional fan to go on my dark rock pro 4. THANKS

The A14s are great IMO. I don't notice mine at all.

Kinda silly to return them, you could just buy a fan controller and set them at a specific maximum speed that doesn't annoy you.

wouldnt that be more expensive though? (how much is a good fan controller that works with easy/good software)

Or just reduces it's speed in the BIOS. Or use the included low noise adapter.

i currently still have the NF-P14s's which dont come with a low noise adapter, and my MOBO is kinda old so BIOS fan controls are literally garbage

SpeedFan is an application for fan control that has support for many older boards. https://www.almico.com/speedfan.php

What fan settings have you tried? Asus' Fan Xpert+ should have some decent options available. Have you tried using the Auto Tuning feature?

What do you mean by other ones? Did you check out the settings available in the bios?

If you don’t like the sound then send them back. Get some cheaper fans and a controller. Noctua are good but don’t let people’s non stop praise sway you because they spent the premium and it makes them feel good. There are other good fans out there that don’t cost as much. I have a P8Z77-V and I think there was only 4 fan headers on it, and I blew one.

Q-fan needs to be enabled for any fan control. There should be a CPU Fan Profile drop-down where you can select 'Manual' for custom settings.

There's a Download tab. https://www.almico.com/sfdownload.php

The download link is hyperlinked as SpeedFan 4.52.
