Computer takes mutiple boot attempts to post

Willhouse

Hi,

Ive been having this issue with my pc as of late, when i reset it, it will not post, i have to manually power it down and start up several times to get it to post, when it doesn't post it does the cpu and ram check but then stops, no warning lights are left on. When it does boot all appears ro be working properly.  Also not sure if its related but my windows appears to slow down after 2 days of uptime, games run fine but dragging windows will be very choppy which is fun with a reboot issue as well.

Specs:

I7 6700k

Asus z170 e mobo

16g DDR4 g skill ripjaw ram

Asus gtx 1080

Sandisk 240g boot ssd

WD 2tb storage drive.

When it won't post is the motherboard beeping at all? I don't see any LCD screen for that board to report post codes so it most likely emits a number of beeps if something is wrong.

I would start by reseating your memory and see if that resolves your POST issues. Also clean the contacts with some Deoxit (more effective) or isopropyl alcohol if you have some.

No beeps, no lcd, it'll start the post cycle and just stop after it clears the memory, my keyboard and mouse also dont have their lights on at this point.
