I'm thinking about buying this : http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Mr.Kamo94/saved/3QNO
to be my main setup, for gaming, light editing and such .. can you guys give me some output about my choices in the components and if it's a good choice or bad with whatever component is in there and , also, can i get it to overclock nicely with no heat problems and such.

Thanks!

thats a nice selection, nothing negative about it. overclocking wise, h100i is as good of a cooling unit as you can get. depending on your cpu you might get to anywhere from 4.2 to 4.8 GHz with safe temps out of it.

btw wrong thread ;) should be in new builds and planing

Looks like a good build although like at a different SSD maybe a Samsung or something but apart from that it looks good.

I'll take that into consideration, thanks :)

If you have the money go with a 780 rather than a 770. The 780 is only about another $100 but you can get much better performance. If you have to save up a little while longer then it is worth it. In my experience it was.

At the moment i don't have enough to afford a 780, but if it's that much better i guess i'll wait a while and get it rather than the 770, thanks for the feedback :)

Ok since it was already mencioned, i'll switch around the SSD and i'll take one of those noctua fans out since 3 should do the job. Thanks!

Something like a Asus Z87-A maybe?

That looks better. And I've heard nice things about the Z87-A.

Thanks ;) but the thing is, i've been searching around for the past 15-30 mins or so looking at some rigs of other people and other peoples recommendations and i get the feeling that people lean more towards a Z87-Pro , although i have nothing against a Z87-A from what i've read and seen  .. i see that for my setup, there are these four mobo around :

- asus maximus vi hero

- asus Z87 Pro

- asus Z87-A

- asus Z87 Sabertooth

( well i did catch a glimpse of an Asrock mobo too, the Asrock Z87 killer  )

I have the z87-A and i love it. no problems with it at all. But, if you care for a color scheme, go with the Hero. and get a Corsair or Seasonic PSU. Edits: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2YEmB

May i just ask, why did you in your edited system parts put a Noctua NH-D14 CPU Cooler instead of the H100i, i know the noctua performs pretty well but doesnt the h100i perform better? plus the noctua cooler is quite big if i did see well, so ram could be a problem ( but my current ram is low profile if im not mistaken so it wouldnt be that much of a problem ) , and yes i do know that the h100i is quite big too but what i had in mind was to put it at the top inside of the case ( if that made sense ) ..

Also, why would i get a corsair power supply or seasonic one when the EVGA one seems to be just fine and also cheaper , i dont know but i may be in the wrong, so if i am, do explain if you dont mind :P

i put the NH-D14 because they perform about/equally as good. plus i noticed you had low profile RAM was another choice for picking the noctua cooler. but if you're concerned about the size requirements then go with the h100i. just tried to save you money

I chose the corsair PSU because its very reliable, and i haven't heard much about EVGA psu's. Never skimp out on the PSU, and thats why i went with the corsair RM series PSU.

The CPU cooler is what i'd do, but its preference. It's up to you if you want the h100i or the nh-d14 :P

Thanks for the tip, in regards to saving money, i appreciate your opinion and might make that my cpu cooler in fact, this because i've seen someone almost with the same setup as i have with a noctua cooler and seems to fit just fine even if its bulky ..  it performs just about as good as an h100i as you said correctly so i guess i cant go wrong with it :)

Oh i see, the reliability ok ok .. well i did put some search into the EVGA's psu that i put in my list for the setup but i do guess it is better to spend that little bit of money that doesnt go to the h100i into a more reliable psu since its one of the most important parts of the rig :P

Thanks!
