So the main issue seems to be locating a Mini STX motherboard. The dimensions of the Gamecube are too small for Mini ITX. Combine Mini STX with COVID-19 availability and it was resulted in difficulty in locating a Mini STX motherboard. eBay and Amazon are dry. I found one via: https://www.shopblt.com/item/gigabyte-ga-h110mstx-hd3-h110-dp-lga1151-i/gigmbd_gah110mstxhd3.html. I've found 6th/7th gen Intel CPUs available on eBay and I have a Pentium G4400 laying around that I can at least boot up the computer with. I can source the rest of the parts (dremel, DDR4 laptop memory, M.2 drive, SFF cooler if Intel cooler won't work for various reasons, DC adapter). I guess my main questions come down to:

1. Will I be able to find a graphics card that will fit this thing? Most graphics cards I can find are ~ 170MM in length and the Gamecube is ~ 150 x 160 x 110. Even the low profile GPUs seem to be longer than SFF cards

2. Will waiting out COVID-19 even be fruitful for finding Mini STX motherboards? Supply seems low and I'm not sure what regular pricing is. I know Gigabyte/Asrock/Asus make Mini STX boards, but can't find any new other than the link posted above. There was a part on two different Mac websites that says "unavailable" after you attempt to buy it for ~ $40 US.

Any thoughts, comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I've found other threads on sites talking about building PCs inside of the Gamecube.

Computer will be hooked up to a Samsung 4K TV. I currently have a computer using an i3-4370+GTX 1650 hooked up to it. Works fine for 1080p, though I can crank up to 4K for older titles.

There is cards that fit but those use micro hdmi or something simlar and are not really that good and i would suggest trying to opt for an amd cpu even if the intel cpu is used brand new amd can be the cheap price and better performance

Reminder⚠️

I'm just speaking from experience so what I say may not work 100%

Please try searching up the answer before you post here but I am always glad to help

I agree with @Kanna. I've seen others here buy the ASRock DeskMini A300—it's an AM4 socket which officially supports all the currently available Ryzen and Athlon APUs. I'm not sure whether it'll support a non-APU or not; they don't include any in the support list, and for good reason. Due to the small size of the mini-STX board, there are no PCIE slots, so a dGPU isn't officially supported either. However, there are two M.2 slots, and you can get an M.2-to-PCIE adapter to plug in a GPU—just be aware that it'll be limited, at best, to PCIEx4, as that's the width supported by M.2.

Still, at 200 USD, that's likely to be your best bet for a modern mini-STX board. It's just not a very common form factor.
