It may not be necessary but I always unplug other drives for a new install, just "feels" right.

I ensure it is clear of all files AND my important files have a known good backup (Essential at all times IMO).

Then its just install the OS, then plug back in the other drives and start remapping the user and steam folders etc (they are all on the other drives, the boot drive only had OS on it and no user folders before starting).

I just have one 500 gb hard drive divided into c drive and other drive. To make sure should i make a backup of my files in G-drive? is it safe? Will it erase c drive with other drives like "d" or "F" ?

Back up all of your files to an external drive, and completely wipe your hard drive. Having it formatted in two partitions does not provide any benefit, you should simply have a single drive formatted as your boot drive. It is too easy to accidentally erase unintended partitions when trying to keep a single.drive divided.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.
