My Laptop Has A Nvidia Geforce 410M GPU . But When Gaming It Uses Intel iGPU and the nvidia control panel isnt showing up

Sistem > Graphic Settings > Browse (select game) > option > Choose high performance.

 

If the gpu isn't listed, then it's probably dead.

@Yk GaMiNg! First of all, why don't you upgrade to Win 10? Assessing your specs, you must have around 4 or 8 GB of RAM. I've a similar spec machine atmost 10yr old now: i5 2430M, nvidia 410M and 4GB RAM.

I'll suggest you to switch to win 10 as ram optimization is much better and it's an overall better OS than 8.1.

 

As for your problem, try installing / reinstalling the latest drivers? Open task manager and check if your GPU is showing up there or not.

Oh, i'm assuming he changed different OS version (which i think he might do now).

you have to set in bios that is should use the nvidia card for all outputs, a colleague had to do that on his lenovo. 

 

to get the nvidia control panel back reinstall drivers from www.nvidia.com
