Hi all,

I ordered all of my parts yesterday before I made a rookie mistake and realized I forgot to check the power supply cables to see if it has 2 8 pins for my GPU. The GPU I bought, the XFX Rx 5700 Xt THICC III Ultra (what a name, right?) needs 2x8pin power connectors. On the power supply, it LOOKS like it has 2 x 4 and 1x6 + 1x2 for a total of 2x8 pins. But I am not good with power supplies so I am not sure if it will be enough. Can anyone come in on this?

2x4pin is for the CPU.

It does however say 2x 6+2 on the pcpp page so you're fine.

The 4+4 connector is for CPU power. You can't plug it in to the graphics card.

Graphics card uses PCIe power connectors. Your power supply has two 6+2 pin PCIe power connectors

You can check what cables it has on the product webpage

https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=220-B5-0550-V1

CONNECTOR QUANTITY

24 Pin ATX 1x 24pin (20+4)
EPS (CPU) 1x 8pin (4+4)
PCIe 2x 8pin (6+2)
SATA 6x
Four-Pin Peripheral 3x
Floppy 1x

Sorry I used the wrong PSU in the partspicker list. I thought I changed but it reverted somehow. I bought a Silverstone SST-ET750-G 750w 80+ gold non-modular

If you go to the Silverstone product webpage it lists the connectors the power supply has.

It has 4 PCIe connectors.

Connectors

1 x 24 / 20-Pin motherboard connector (500mm)
1 x 8 / 4-Pin EPS / ATX 12V connector (750mm)
4 x 8 / 6-Pin PCIe connector ("500mm / 150mm" x 2)
8 x SATA connector ("500mm / 150mm / 150mm / 150mm" x 2)
3 x 4-Pin Peripheral connector (500mm / 150mm / 150mm)
1 x 4-Pin Floppy connector (500mm / 150mm / 150mm / 150mm)

So will it have a combination that will allow me to feed 2 8 pins to my gpu? Sorry I can't really tell the difference between connector to connector

Yes. It has two cables and each cable has 2 PCIe connectors on it. A total of four PCIe connectors.

Your graphics card requires only two PCIe connectors.

It only requires two but it needs a total of 16 pins so hopefully the PSU will have enough pins on the PCIe connectors regardless of whether or not its a single block of 8 or two of 4 or any combination

It's 6+2. PCIe connectors can be either 6pin or 8pin. 6+2 allows you to use it as either a 6pin connector or you can click it together to make an 8pin connector

This is the photo of it on the Silverstone page I linked to earlier.

It has four of those 6+2 connectors.

I think it will all make a lot more sense when you get the power supply and start assembling the system.

Oh, sweet. I think I'm all set then. Thank you very very much
