Hi Running a

 

Ryzen 5 3600

B450m

2x8GB 3200 DDR4

512GB Nvme

650w 80G PSU

1440p 144HZ 27 Monitor

 

Looking for an AMD GPU for general and gaming.

 

Options are MSI 5700 Gaming X for £309.99 and Powercolor 5700XT Red Dragon for £379.97 ?

Personally I'd get the 5700 Gaming X, especially if I was on a budget. While the XT is faster it's not a groundbreaking difference, and you could try flashing a 5700XT BIOS onto the regular 5700 and if it works you'd be getting close to XT performance. Also the Gaming X cooler is among the best on the 5700 cards.

yes, this would void the warranty in most situations.

Yes. If you had to RMA the card, you'd have to flash back the original BIOS onto the card.

It's not something I'd do necessarily, I just said that if you wanted to get the most performance out of it then you could do that too.

yes but it might be worht it, since it will become almost as good as 5700 XT
