Dangly molex connector

Yeah just cut it close to the connector so the wires can't touch.

If you cut, remember to seal it with electrical tape or one of those rubber things made for sealing wires. There's still risk of short circuiting if any open wires are left.

 

I would just tie to connector to cable and tug it out of side.
