Do you think that AMD's new Ryzen 3 series can now beat the core i5 and core i7?

Depends what you throw at it. These aren't exactly competitors towards these processor tiers.

while their cpus perform worst on single core performance unlike Intel core series

You also pay a premium for intel processors, while the performance difference is too minimal to justify.

Plus, not everyone only ever needs the fastest single core performance.

First of all, the current ryzen CPUs already match intel CPUs in terms of core performance.

The only difference is that intel has higher turbo speeds.

Second, nobody knows anything about ryzen 3.

Not really. but considering that ryzen 3 can actually game on par or sometimes even better than the higher end ryzen (since they can reach higher boost clocks and lower latency especially the 3300x) and considering their price, they are pretty much the to go "Gaming" CPUfor budget builders.

Im with the mentaility of "IF IM NOT SURE IF ITS ENOUGH COOLING, GO OVERKILL"

You could be talking about one of two things:

1) the new Ryzen 3 3100 and Ryzen 3 3300X

2) Zen 3 CPUs, which will make up the Ryzen 4000 lineup

I'm not certain which you mean

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

I'm talking both

Well we have some direct head to head comparisons regarding the 3100 and 3300X with the 7700k, which are quite impressive.

We don't have any performance data on 10th gen Intel or 4th gen ryzen so we can't be sure if AMD will start leading.

I've been reading 15% IPC improvement

We've already seen BIG core count on AM4 3900X and up.

So possible lower power consumption is likely on the 7nm+ node (N7P-TSMC)

The chiplet design is really helping with keeping costs down.

Will be backwards compatible with current motherboards AM4

September.

Yeah you hear that literally every year, from both companies.
