[Experiment 2-14] Dell Vostro 1000 mobo upgrade?

I recently looked up in my attic and found a bunch of pc parts and really old laptops. I stumbled across A Dell Vostro 1000 laptop and was wondering if there is any other boards for it than the one in it already.

I'm not really going to be using it for daily use. Probably gonna give it to my nephew when I'm done with it.

Specs (really bad) : 1gb ram 886 mb usable. AMD Atholon 64 TK-57. and a really old graphics card.

Thx in advance.

I know this is an old thread - but it has been coming up on Google searches.

This laptop can support 8GB (2x 4GB) RAM but it’s picky and needs the latest BIOS. Easy enough really. 4GB works fine.

The TL-66 CPU (with double the cache of the TK-57) brings up performance if you can find it cheap enough.

The TL-68 will work but you need to be sure to use good quality paste.

Anyway - this is a reply for the random people of the internet. Sucks when I’m trying to find answers and things are left unresolved (or just have “solved it!” as a reply with no info)
