Clearly I need higher speed ram. Even when I have a few chrome tabs open it is at 90% usage.

 

I would also like to get higher fps, to make use of my 144hz monitor. I am not sure if I should upgrade my gpu or cpu. Is the am4 socket still in use? Or do I need to upgrade my mother board.

 

Unrelated (slightly) to fps, what led strips do you recommend that can be controlled via software? Preferably a software that can also control other external lights and other smart home devices.

you need more ram, not faster ram. though it'll certainly help for gaming performance. you could update the bios on your motherboard, then upgrade both the cpu and gpu.

Nothing that I see needs to be upgrade except for more ram and a better video card, but if they are working fine, there really isn't any need to upgrade.
