I think I'm about to go insane. I have been through at least 3 mice that have given me right mouse button issues and I don't know why. Whenever I'm playing an FPS game is where it stands out the most. I'll go to hold the button to aim my weapon and it glitches out and registers multiple inputs. Sometimes I can have it fully depressed and it won't register either. I've recently blown some canned air under the buttons to try and fix it, but it actually made it worse somehow. The problem seems to go away with use, but still mis-inputs sometimes and it really bugs me. These symptoms repeat for every mouse I've owned.

Because of the similar problems with every mouse I'm thinking it's for one of these reasons:

  • I'm just an aggressive mouse user and beat the crap out of the button.
  • My power supply is to blame somehow. (My components are pushing the wattage limit of the PSU but I haven't ran into a random shutdowns, BSOD, or any other symptoms except coil whine)
  • All mice are like this and I just have to deal with it.

I'm at the end of my rope and my wits here, and advice would be really appreciated.

I have unplugged, plugged back in, changed ports, removed other usb devices, and nothing has worked. 😓

I found this setting in Windows. Perhaps it might be the culprit?

Nope, that option is disabled. I tried playing around with that double-click slider but no dice as well.

Ah okay. The only other thing I could find is that it might be a problem with your OS. Maybe Malware or a registry issue. Sorry :(
