hi,

I put a new motherboard, cpu and ssd in my computer yesterday. when i do a game / benchmark, the computer freezes and has to reset it with the power button.
i thought it was the power supply so i put a brand new 750w power supply but this didn't help.
i did a bios update, gpu swap, memory check, fresh windows install, update all my drivers,...but this didn't help
the specs are:

i9-9900k (no oc)
msi z390 gaming pro carbon
4x corsair vengeance lpx 8gb ddr4 3000mhz
msi 2080 super gaming x trio (no oc)
samsung 970 evo 1tb
corsair h110 cooler
Corsair RM750X psu
temperatures are okay cpu 45°C/gpu 60°C in the benchmark

anyone have an idea what it could be?

thx!

Chipset update? Im not 100% on this, Im actually learning it myself but the chipset on the mobo manages the communication of the PCIe lanes.  If the board was bought back when 8 series was released, then updated to 9 series via CPU there may be an update required for stability - Im not sure.  However there is updated chipset drivers for this board released December 2019.

Id run Samsung magician on the drive to check it out

By freeze do you mean screen freezes and PC locks up with whatever was on that screen at the moment, or does it black screen and require a hard reset?

So you said you did a GPU swap - what GPU - and did you DDU drivers away before installing the new GPU?

I put a gtx 960 in and i installed the driver for it. Now im back om the 2080 with a fresh windows install, it worked for 1.5 hours but then it froze again.

Fresh windows install, with fresh drivers Im assuming?

Were you able to try the GPU in another PC?

While checking those two things, can you only run 2x8gb sticks in slots 2 and 4 furthest from the CPU? (first and third should not be populated)  and see if it still crashes?

I removed the ram on slot 1 en 3 but it still does not work.

Id either wait until someone more knowledgable than me arrives (plenty on this forum) or start the RMA process on CPU and Mobo (since drive tested good I wouldn't think that's the culprit).
