R9 390 Replacement

Would it be worth my trouble to replace my R9 390 with an RX 580? Im running an older processor (4790k) How much improvement would i see? My budget is limited so was wondering.

No, they have very similar performance levels, so you might as well wait until you can afford something like a 5700/2060S. Though, with a haswell i7 you'd start seeing bottlenecking in some games.

The 580 is barely faster than a 390.

As @ibabyslapper said, they're pretty much trading blows in terms of performance ;

So, unless you want to lower your PC power consumption and you're playing a game where the 580 is slightly ahead (DX 12 games for exemple), then it's not worth it and it's better to wait a bit and get something faster than a 580.

if your budget is around 250ish get a 1660 super if your budget is around 280ish get a 5600xt or a 2060 ko 

if your budget is around 650ish to 400 a 5700 or a 2060s is the best
