Nah, not really. Well the loading times would go up which usefull for multiplayer games, but it's not must a have feature. Seeing PS5 around the corner i would save the money and wait. Next gen supposed to have breakneck speeds in ps5 AND ps4 games.

Depends on what games you're playing. It could be a rational boost to load times in some games that load in a lot of data and do a ton of data streaming. Just depends on if you feel that the price is right for the benefit.

From personal experience, no not really. I do it primarily for reliability. I did get a minor reduction of load times but not enough to really make it worth it solely on that alone. It's just a few seconds here and there. It's not like going from a hard drive to an SSD on a PC.

If you still want to do it, my recommendation would probably be a Crucial MX500. They strike a good balance between performance, reliability, and value. I have a 1TB MX500 in both my PS4 Pros. A Seagate BarraCuda 120 1TB is looking like a good value too but I've never owned one.

Is it worth upgrading the standard HDD to an SSD on the PS4 PRO in terms of performance? If so, what is the best option? Or specific features that would be most helpful?

Oooo, hell yeah. I upgraded my ps4's hdd to a samsung 1 tb SSD and boy do u feel a difference. Do u know about the infamous gta install( takes about 2 hours on a normal HDD ), it took me under 15-20 minutes to install!!

Sometimes the PS4 lags or stutters when you try to do multiple tasks, not the case when you put an SSD in it. In conclusion, there are no downsides here, an SSD makes ur life better :)
