Upgrading GPU

Right now I have a r2600 w/ 1660 super and I want to upgrade but I don’t really know CPU and GPU value.

 

Scenario 1: I upgrade my 1660S for a RTX 2060

 

Scenario 2 : I upgrade my 1660S for a 5600XT

 

 

If I wanna play at 1080p/144hz what’s the best option?

what is your budget at? you have a good gpu for 1080p 144hz gaming already

The 1660S is already a really good card for 1080p, I can't imagine you're getting bad performance with it. I'd rather suggest waiting for Ampere.

Also, while both the 2060 and 5600XT are faster than the 1660S, it wouldn't be that much of an upgrade to justify paying full price for a brand new card imo.

Depends on the games you're playing. RTX 2060 is probably best choice for 1080/144hz if you have to upgrade. Like everyone's already said, 1660S is already a good 1080/144hz card

A rtx2060 or rx5600xt is barely an upgrade over a gtx 1660s (15% at max for such a big investment is not worth it at all). So not worth the money. A gtx 1660s is a perfectly fine card for 1080p 144hz.

A 5600 XT/2060 isn't an upgrade - it's a sidegrade. Look at a 5700 or 2060 Super minimum
