Hey guys I have done a small bit of research into my build but I just need some double checks and opinions. Quick background, I want to play mostly FPS games like csgo and Rainbow 6 at 1080p on a 144hz monitor, my budget is around $2300 Australian or $1500 USD. So the questions I have are;

1) Does my PSU have enough wattage

2) Is the GPU a good quailty pick

3) Is it worth spending the extra $50 for a MSI Nvidia RTX 2070 VENTUS GP 8G when I only want to play at 1080p (Also I dont want to switch to a Radeon GPU)

4) Will I need to do a BIOS Update (as in get a spare CPU from Ryzen) or is the motherboard "fine" with the CPU.

5) Is Ryzen's own CPU cooler enough

6) Do I need to purchase any extra cabels or themal paste, ect

6) What is a good $100 USD gaming keyboard

@GazzaMate Yes you will need to update bios, for the keyboard depends on what kind of feel you want for the keyboard. I would go for a non stock cooler for a 3rd gen cpu, it would be "enough" but it would get a little toasty. I would say the extra 50 isn't really worth it, it's a marginal FPS increase. Most coolers come with thermal paste these days, your GPU quailty is good i use MSI for my cards as well.

1) Yes.

2) The Ventus isn't really a great pick, as it might run louder than other cards because of its fairly small heatsink.

3) The 2070 offers an unnoticeable performance advantage over the 2060S, so no. Also, why don't you want to consider AMD?

4) MSI's "MAX" boards are ready for Ryzen 3000 out of the box, so no.

5) It's alright for stock speeds.

6) No, assuming you already have a display cable for your monitor.

Also, the 970 Pro isn't worth it unless you're using it as a scratch disk. Get a 970 Evo, Sabrent Rocket, Adata SX8200 Pro or HP EX950, you could get a 1TB version for either drive for that money.

When updating BIOS do I just take the PC to my local computer guy and get them to do it or is there an easier way of doing it?

So do you think it would be better getting the 3600 instead of the 3600x?

the perfomrnace increase is marginal for an 18% increase in price

Yes, it’s not worth the extra money for slightly higher clock speeds especially when you can just over clock it.

@Shrekpad Sorry final thing, I was planning on getting the parts from both umart and MSY but are the prices and websites on pcpartpicker reliable, ie can I just get all the parts from pcpartpicker?

Not sure in Australia, but here in the US they have reliable retailers.

I am pretty sure this will be the final build, final question, do I need a CPU cooler? (will not overclock)

No, you most likely won’t run into temp issues with stock cooling.
