Upgrading the Ol’ Ryzen 2600X

I’m buying/upgrading to a new CPU for myself for my wife’s birthday. What do you guys think? 3600X or what?

depends on what you are doing with that CPU, a 3600x will certainly be faster but the question is if you will even notice it in the workloads you run.

Mainly gaming. I also do some editing for a twitch Partner which is mainly why I’m upgrading I’m not pleased with performance from my 2600X anymore. So I was wondering the best alternative. I love Ryzen, but that i9 look so good.

3600 is faster, but not that much faster especially considering an OC'd 2600x.

well the 3600 is a better choice for mostly gaming. It will be good for most tasks,  I wouldn't only spent the budget on just the cpu.

A GPU upgrade would benefit you far more than a CPU.

Have you considered the 3700X? It runs a bit hotter than the 3600x but the additional 2c/4t over the 3600X should feel a bit more 'punchy' over your 2600x

Nice build. Only question why PSU was not added as it is an additional cost?
