2070S vs 2060S

LewisBros

I just can't decide on which GPU I want to purchase. I have a 1920x1080 144Hz monitor and just plan on just gaming on it. I want to run ultra/highest settings on most games and get solid fps for these games, even if that means lowering the settings a little bit to get the 144+fps that I need. My only issue is that I want my gpu to stay relevant for a little while, but I'm not sure that the extra $100ish is worth it for the 2070 Super. I've been asking around and can't finalize on an answer. If anyone has a good review between these 2 that would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thank you!

PS: Was looking at the bottom 2 for my options on which one's to chose but I'm totally down for other options because at this point I don't even know what I know:

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

You think that would be a good inbetween for the 2? I wouldn't mind checking it out if that would be a good option

Pricing is so close to the 2060 super, worth it imo.

Yeah that's what I thought. Do you happen know if the actual performance is decently better though?

Yes, the GPU is definitely worth the $10 extra in terms of performance increase.

That's what I was thinking. However, I was doing some research and read that for the most part the 2070s is better for 1440p 60fps gaming. I only plan on running 1080p so I was wondering if I even need to spend the extra $100 as long as I got the fps I needed

you have a 144hz monitor...this GPU won't achieve those FPS even at 1080p in some AAA titles if you want high detail settings...games that are out NOW...not in a year and a half from now.

That said, you also need a damn good CPU combo to push the frames at those rates in many games as well...so that is to keep in mind.

i would get the best card you can afford...that way you won't regret it later.

that's what i would do as well...that way if you want a fancy 1440p high refresh monitor in the future or maybe even a VR headset you'll have a good GPU that can take more.
