Hey guys, I am looking to change my case, because DF-35 (this thing suck)... I want to keep it under 150$ and i live in Québec, Canada. I want something that smells quality and preferably not to big. With the less plastic possible. The case i have right now does not close because of my nh-u14s tower cooler.

Here is my rig :

OCZ modxtreme pro 700w (the cable are very short, so i need space for extension)

Asus m5a97

AMD phenom 965 BE

Noctua NH-U14S

Asus 7970 DCUII (this thing is feaking long and big, Will probably crossfire in a year when it cant handle new games)

Current case : Antec DF-35

I bought 4 corsair sp120 QE 4 weeks ago that i'd like to fit in the nre case

One thing to note is I don't plan on ever water cooling, I like the look of air cooler and i don't see the need as i don't overclock my component to far.

Thanks!!

Case : Corsiar Air 540 CPU : Intel i5 8600k GPU : Asus Nvidia 970 DirectCUII RAM : 16gb DDR4 MB : ASUS Prime z370-p PSU : OCZ Modxtreme 700w SSD : Samsung 840 EVO 250gb

you might like a Lian Li case

It's more or less the same as a Fractal Arc but with less plastic.

If you do mind the all plastic front of the Define R4 or Arc Midi R2 then go with something from Lian Li since they are all metal with a nice brushed aluminum finish.

I am note to sure aboute the way the side window is mounted and the cable management does seem to good :(

Is the xigmatek Talon any good? altought is is plastic, i find soft touch plastic to be quite attractive.

Is the front of the R4 all aluminum? or is it plastic with aluminum texture?

The front door is plastic with rigid plastic bezel. It's indistinguishable and actually has a kind of nice shined finish, the front of mine kind of looks like a white mirror.

The Lian Li one is all metal and should have similar space in the back to the R4.

http://imgur.com/a/cQQNp (this build is flat out retarded IMO, but it's just an example to show the cabling, by the way if you buy a brushed aluminum case clean the fingerprints off with alcohol immediately after handling it unlike this tool who rubbed his grubby hands all over it and didn't bother cleaning it)

You can also consider a Midi R2, it's cheaper than the R4 and the Lian Li while having the same layout of the R4 with more air flow. Keep in mind the R4 is not designed for thermal performance.

The Talon is a little tacky for my taste.

this may help you decide

CM Storm Stryker if you like the look. Its all metal and really good construction. Paintjob is solid and the airflow is superb :)

That case looks amazing compared to the R4... Wish I considered Lian Li more when buying

Right now i think the battle is between the C70 and the 750D.

The side mount for fan would be good because is mine with my graphic card, But the front of the 750D is just soooo beautiful.

I am actually doing just that at the moment haha. The mate plastic is a good replacement to front aluminum, and the air cooling seems to good enough so that my 7970 dont bake itself while mining xD The PSU is placed so that my short cable on it will easilly be able to reach. What i don't like is that it is wide, but hey, you gotta make sacrifice sometime :P

It does have that unique look to it xD but also Cooler Master is making there own case in that kinda style. the working name is the Cooler Master XC.

If you haven't decided on a new case yet, you should look at the Corsair Vengeance C70. It is made of 100% steel.. Here is a review of the case done by the man.. the myth.. the one and only Linus: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kgICPSE-zYQ

The case comes in 3 different colors.. Military Green, Black, Arctic White. The Military Green is the most expensive on Newegg.com at 139.99 USD.

Not to mention the external (??? idk, not that bad) 120mm CLC, a 650Ti with like a million case fans and an 860W power supply.

The dude spent more on case fans and CPU cooling (maybe even unincluding the H80i) than his graphics card I think...
