No you would be overloading the circuit, try pulling a line from your electrical panel to your room for a new circuit.

The socket the PC is plugged into, is likely sharing the breaker with a bunch of other electrical stuff in your home. This is common is older homes and is a way for whoever did the electrical panel in your home to skimp out on the work needed.

What else "shuts down", whenever that specific breaker trips? Things like TVs, microwave, washing machine, lights, air conditioner, heater, etc. .

It may not be obvious, but when you add up every little things that are plugged in, you can easily reach the 1800W / 15A  needed to trip the breaker.

What you can do, is the next time that it trips, see if another socket in your room still works before resetting the breaker. If so, use that one instead. (You can also just close the breaker manually to test this out)

If you simply do not have another socket that works in that room... Consider changing the room your PC is in... Or get an electrician to run a new power cable from the panel to the room for a dedicated wall socket.

You could technically also buy an extension cord and run it from a working socket that is not on that breaker, to the room you're in... but be sure to get a THICC one, like 12 or 14AWG extension cord. The heavy duty types, even more so if you do not run it through the wall for smaller length. A lower gauge will help reduce resistance as much as possible and prevent overheating of the cord.

Guys, it is possible that there's something shorting in the PC... that's literally why breakers exist.

That could be a possibility, OP needs to run their PC on a different outlet, preferably one that isn't connected to the same breaker, if the problem persists then the problem may be originating in the computer itself and not the breaker.

Also, OP, when did this problem start?

It’s very unlikely that’s the case tho, because the pc still works, it’s likely that the circuit is being overdrawn
