First build. Gaming rig (~$1000). About to pull the trigger and would love some feedback first.

Will be for gaming (no streaming) and other mundane tasks (e.g., web browsing, Microsoft Office, etc.). Mostly play competitive games (FPS' and MOBAs) as well as some (A)RPGs. Some stuff I've played in the past: Apex Legends, Realm Royale, PUBG, FN, CS:GO, Day of Defeat: Source, Overwatch, R6S, Insurgency, Killing Floor, Payday 2, World of Tanks, Path of Exile, Grim Dawn, Diablo 3, Borderlands 2, Warframe, Heroes of the Storm, Dota 2. Off the top of my head, would like to play COD: Warzone, Borderlands 3, Valorant, and possibly Cyberpunk 2077.

What do you guys think? Was originally going to go with a 5700/5700 XT but the buggy cards and driver issues scared me away. Going with the 2070 instead. Dropped the cooler for now. Still might get it, but also might just see how the card runs with the stock cooler. If I do get a cooler would probably get a Hyper 212 or a Freezer 34 DUO.

Still trying to find a reasonably priced PSU (<$100). Looking for something that's 550-650W 80+ Gold. Gigabyte's site recommended 550W for the 2070. Everything seems to be overpriced, out of stock, or on special order. Any recommendations?

Would really like to give 144hz gaming a try and am leaning heavily towards the ASUS VG249Q. Am open to other monitor recommendations as long as they're within my price range (~$200-300). Like the PSUs, it seems like everything is out of stock or on special order though. Trying to keep everything under $1300.

Would love any and all feedback!

Get a hard drive, maybe 2tb unless you know for sure you won't use it, replace the H510 with a p300a (buy 3 extra fans).

I am NOT a professional and a lot of the time what I'm saying is based on limited knowledge and experience. I'm going to be incorrect at times.

upgraded your gpu  since you had the budget only 480gb of ssd + a 1tb hdd but storage is easy to upgrade

replaced the nvme since unless you are doing video editing at 4k there is no real need

choose a half decent psu  + 165hz monitor

With a new and improved psu

that isn't much better either. a corsair CX would be much better for $10 more.

The funny thing is, the br is definitely bad, and defending your liking for it simply by saying "its evga" doesnt at all apply to the psu world or even hardware in general. But to answer your question, yes myself and mostly anyone here knows of evga (obviously). And on that note, most anyone here will also back up that the br is indeed bad.

Appreciate all the replies guys. Would people mind providing some reasons behind their selections though?

Why the Ryzen 7 2600 over the Ryzen 5 3600? Why the B450M PRO Micro over the B450 TOMAHAW?

Did not realize that Bronze PSUs were worth looking into. Had been told to stick to Gold. That'll open up a lot of doors. Will cross-reference with the stickied PSU tier list. Will be sure to shop around more for those. And I can check out these other cases too. Definitely not married to the H510.
