I don't have much knowledge with VPNs. But linux does have firewall, called iptables or ufw. You also should define what you mean by static ip. There are lots of miss conceptions around this. Is it a static LAN IP or static external IP?

And please. Give as much information as you can about your setup when you ask for help. What you have given there is like thousands of possibilities that are wrong somewere, no one is gonna guess all of those for you. So help us out with information.

i got a static ip from windscribe, and i portforwarded 25565(minecraft port) to 25565.

i connected to my windscribe static ip like i would a vpn. i have 3 ips. static, tun driver one, and my real ip. my server will only stay open with the tun0 ip added to the minecraft server.

my pc hosting the server can connect, but

my laptop on my realip cannot connect via the tun ip.

my intention was to setup a server with mods for me and a few friends.

Ok so where exactly did you do the port forwarding? There can literally be a million reasons why you can't connect to it from your real ip. Does the VPN even support server hosting & port forwarding?
