Hi

Stupidly brought a corsair mp510 480gb thinking it would fit into my second slot on my Asrock b450 steel legend mATX but that slot only supports sata nvme drives.

So looking at using a pcie adapter do thiese things just work or do you have to be careful which one to get?

The bottom slot of this motherboards fits the two types of M.2 drives, those of the NVME/PCIE variant and SATA variants.

The Corsair MP510 is an M.2 SSD of the NVME/PCIE variant, which would work in both slots of this motherboard.

Why exactly do you want an PCIE adapter for it?

The M.2_2 slot only supports SATA M2 drives, while the M.2_1 supports PCIe drives, although both are M key slots.

I assume he's trying to use M.2_2.

🤦‍♂️I was on the non-M version of the Steel Legend product page (whose second M.2 slot does fit PCIE drives). Whoops.

Thanks for the correction!

But I still wonder; does OP already have another SSD in the top slot, if so; is that of the PCIE or SATA variant? If SATA; it's possible to move that to the lower slot and just use the top slot for this Corsair SSD.
