You will be fine.

Hey guys! First-time builder here. I'm looking to use a Noctua D14 for my CPU cooler in the Fractal Design R4 case. I originally wanted to use the non-windowed black Nanoxia Deep Silence 1 because I planned to water cool at some point in the long term, but its hard to find and only has x2 120mm front intakes compared to the x2 140s of the R4 (better for short-mid term).

Newegg says the R4 has 170mm of space for the heatsink, and the D14 is 160mm tall. Does the case's 170mm listed space already take into account the space the motherboard and CPU will take up, or is that value non-standard leaving me with only 10mm for my CPU/motherboard?

If it won't fit, I'll probably just wait for more of the DS1 black version or go with the white version since the DS1 has 15mm more headroom than the R4.
