Ok so correct me if i'm wrong but. But the toslink connector on your motherboard carries ones and zeros that your dac turns into analogue stuff. So if you're only buying an amp with not internal dac using optical won't work. But if you buy a 3.5mm jack to rca  you can use your on board dac instead of buying one. Would this work?

Typically you connect a DAC with USB

Typically you connect an AMP with RCA/3.5mm.

I am not sure how Toslink is relevant to your story, as that is usually only used as line in/out on external soundcards and such. Not (often) on DACs either.

Never mind the toslink thing I ment spdif but connecting an amp through a 3.5 to rca would work?
