The black light?!

Odyss

After looking at a couple of builds around here, mine is by any means anything fancy or out of the ordinary, but it's mine, I built it with my own money and sweat and I couldn't be more proud of it (although there are things I would change).

Coming from a country that's relatively poor (look under my profile picture and you'll get it :D) and salaries being relatively low, I could never afford to just toss out money on the parts I would've dreamed off, so I settled for something decent, I waited until the times were right and about two years ago I have started working on a new rig because my old one couldn't keep up by any means. I started off with the CPU and Motherboard, then waiting ensued and after a couple of months, I purchased the PSU, RAM and a generic cheap case. Saving the GPU, HDD + SSD and CPU cooler from my old build, I was ready to go but I always felt I could improve in some areas. Given these things, I managed to get my hands on a new SSD + HDD + CPU cooler around last November and a better GPU around last December (my Christmas gift to myself :P). Around January I also managed to go for a better case and this is when I started putting what would be my current rig to my building abilities. And so, without further introduction, this is the build I have managed to... well, build:

  • CPU: Intel i5-9600K OC'ed to 4.6 GHz
  • CPU Cooler: Be quiet! Dark Rock 4
  • Motherboard: Gigabyte Z390 UD
  • RAM: 2 x 8GB HyperX Fury Black @3200 MHz
  • GPU: Palit Windforce GeForce GTX 1080 Ti
  • Storage: Samsung 860 EVO SSD 500 GB + WD Blue 7200 RPM HDD 1 TB
  • PSU: nJoy Woden 650W 80+ Gold
  • Case: Armis AR5X TG RGB
  • Coolers: Sigma HP Corona 6 x 120mm(5 intake + 1 exhaust) + Sigma HP Corona 2 x 140mm (2 exhaust)

All things considered, what I would change is the controller to put all of my fans into (the current one only supports 6 so I can't light up the fans at the bottom of the case), the PSU (the ketchup and mustard cables truly make for an unpleasant sight at a closer look) and that's about it if I'm being honest. Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with what I have.

Editor's note: Please do overlook the camera quality, boxes in the background, poor cable management in the back (in my defense, I did try to make it look good but the stickers of the tunnels I would put my cables through didn't hold) and whatever else that has nothing to do with the case and its contents.
