Hello everybody,

I am waiting for my liquid cooling parts to arrive at the moment. I want to make the build as silent as possible, so I would like to check in advance at what speed approximatelly will I need to run my fans.

I will be cooling i5-8600k@4.8Ghz (voltage around 1.3V) and an overclocked Radeon 5700 flashed with 5700XT BIOS (currently, I run it at 2005 Mhz core at 1.12V - actual core speed in games is around 1965 Mhz, but I plan to raise the voltage to around 1.2V and core clock to around 2,1 - 2,15 Ghz once watercooled). I assume that around 300W-350W of heat will need to be taken care of during the gaming session on this build. Is my assumption so far correct?

My build will consist of one slim 420mm radiator and one slim 360mm radiator, mounted in Fractal Design S case. The 420mm radiator will be on the top, while the 360mm radiator will be front mounted. The fans will push cold air from the outside through the radiator to the inside of the case and additional two 140mm radiators will be used to push hot air out of the case.

At what speed will I need to run fans on both radiators in this setup (140mm fans are Fractal Design GP-14, while 120mm fans are LCPower Airazor)?

Thank you for the replies!

With overkill radiators like that I believe you could run the fans below 1000 RPM but it's only guess work you'd have to do your own testing but I'd be surprised if it required more than that.

I hope to stay at 700 rpm or below, I really hate the sound that fans make.

As low as they can be and still run and not clock.
I even have most of mine shut off when at idle.
