Use 5k Retina as a display

My girlfriend have a mac, I have a spare old gaming pc that still works fine for some games. 

 

The mac screen cannot be connected directly to the windows computer tho. 

 

I was wondering if there was another way, like by connecting the two computers and use a remote-destop like application to game on the windows machine while using the 5k retina as a display. 

 

Would performance be that bad? Is it doable?

Note: Target Display Mode isn’t supported on iMac models with Retina display. 

 

That's why I'm asking here for a workaround
