Adjusting Ram timings for best Gaming Performance.

Hi,.. I have a Aorus pro wifi motherboard, an i9 9900 cpu. an Asus 2080 super gpu and 16 gigs of Trident royal z 14 cl ram.

I'm a noob at this stuff and was adjusting the Cl numbers in the bios,.. turning off xmp and reducing the Cas to 8 from 14.. To me it seems snappier.

Haven't lost any framerate.. the frequency has dropped to 1800 or so..   Now I didn't adjust any of the other numbers.. Would I get better timings if I did?

Also is the ram that you buy going to work best at what it is preconfigured for? I know there is a trade of of cl and frequency..  Should I just leave it at stock auto xmp? I'm looking for the snappiest response I can get. to me 8 feels better than 14 but I could be lying to myself haha.
