Ooh so when using GameStream my friend would be able to play all day long if I leave my PC on while at work?

Poor friend is out of work and only has a shitty laptop. Thought I would help him out since I got a 1070Ti semi-beast. Worked OK we get like 15ms between eachother. Which I guess is doubled because of imputs and game response have to go back and forth,

Generally, yes. This is called "remote Game Stream" and it would basically require your PC to be on and connected to the Internet for the entire session. The games will render locally on your PC and stream the audio/video over the Internet to his device/s.

Hello!

I have 3 questions regarding the FREE GeForce Now package that my googling skills doesn't find.

1. The 1 hr session lenght. Does that apply when streaming from my own PC to friends PC over internet?

2. When the 1 hr session is up can you re-connect right away or is there a longer timeout?

3. Can you even stream from the cloud without hosting the game yourself on a host-PC?

Thank you in advance!

That's not how it works. You just simply connect to Geforce Now from your friend's PC, your own PC isn't involved.

You can queue up for another session straight again. How long you have to wait depends on whether there are any free slots in the queue or not -- if there's a lot of people in the queue, you may have to wait a while and if there aren't any people in the queue, you'll get to play again instantly.

Like I said, there is no "host-PC." With Geforce Now, the games are actually running entirely on NVIDIA's servers and all you get is the picture. There is no hosting of any kind you have to do and since the game is running on NVIDIA's servers, you can use even a potato-PC to play.

I think you're conflating Nvidia's GameStream with its GeForce Now service, which are different services. GameStream is the Nvidia tech where your physical PC runs/renders a game and streams the output over to a Shield device/app. GeForce Now is Nvidia's cloud gaming streaming service where Nvidia's servers render/process the games and stream the A/V output to your devices.

1. You're describing GameStream here, there's no time limit.

2. You're describing GeForce Now here. When a GeForce Now "free session" reaches its 1 hour limit, you can immediately re-queue to get another session. Depending on the demand, this can be relatively quick or you may be waiting several minutes until you can get another session. Paid customers get priority access and longer session times. This doesn't apply to GameStream.

3. This question doesn't make sense. By the very nature of streaming from the cloud, your local PC is not "hosting" the game. As above, GameStream != GeForce Now.
