My HP Pavilion is giving me beep codes

Hello y'all!

I kinda need some help and some info about the beep code i get from my HP Pavilion!

A week ago my pc suddenly kinda died i guess.

I've always normally used it and it always worked but recently it won't start up anymore.

I've been getting a beep code from my Motherboard.

It beeps 5 times and pauses and continues.

It happened out of nowhere and it suddenly won't start anymore.

I have contacted HP Support and they could'nt help me for whatever reason.

Is there anything i could do since i can't afford a new one and k have most of my friends online that i can't play games together anymore which is terrible for the situation we all are in rn and i'm stuck at home...

Specs:

Hp Pavilion 550-060nz

Intel Core i7-4790S

Gtx 745 4g

8gb Kingston Ram(new)

i don't know what Bios i have.

Mobo i believe is a: Memphis-2s or something in those lines(by hp)

Thanks in advance!

It means that your cmos battery is dead on your motherboard, it’s the little button cell battery and should be easy to find, there very cheap

Motherboard or memory issue. Re-seat your RAM and try again. If it fails try each stick by itself (if multiple sticks). Otherwise there was a failure in the mobo somewhere.

first 2 answers say it is just the cmos battery?

Should i just get one and see if it works?

And i already tried to reseat ram sticks and i got a new one and tried every single stick i have 1 by 1 in every slot nothing helped.

so i guess if the cmos batterydoesn't work my mobo is dead?

thanks for the reply!

It’s a cmos battery issue

That’s probably the case, This should work, make sure to pop your battery in in the correct way, amazon has it in stock in most warehouses still so it should come quite soon

Hope so. I was simply going off of HPs website about beep codes, but a battery is a much easier fix. Good luck OP @Delaycloud

sadly it didn't work, i guess then it is a mobo failure or my cpu is dead, no way to test that tho since i don't have a workbench or another system :/
