Can any of the nighthawk range extenders be hardwired? Looking at the back it appears they have 4 1 gig ports but they it looks like those are used to connect other devices. Not to connect to the network. Anyone know about this?

You can do this, but I'm not sure if it's possible with all models. What you're trying to achieve here is turning the "range extender" into an access point. This method will allow you to extend your wireless range, but via a wired link back to the primary wireless router rather than a wireless one (i.e. the conventional mode of the device).

If your "range extender" supports this mode, you will find something in the device's manual under a heading like "Install the Extender as an Access Point".
