Recently upgraded, having issues

Recently upgraded my pc, having issues.

I recently upgraded my pc to a ryzen 5 3600, and a gtx 1660ti. At first, I began experiencing random shutdowns while doing more intensive tasks. I thought it was due to my aging 450w psu. Today, after doing some schoolwork on my pc, I shut it down and left. When I went back to turn it on, it spun fans and lit rgbs, but provided no video output. I did not touch the pc between my time doing school and my issues. I the looked in the pc to find problems and found that my cooler (wraith stealth) was not screwed in on one side, so I took it off and remounted it properly. It (obviously) did not fix the problem. Some of the times I tried, it got to the bios, others it didnt. One time it got to the desktop, but froze and wouldn’t do anything. Now it spins the fans and lights up, but does absolutely nothing. What may be the issue?

Edit: I also upgraded my motherboard

edit 2: I used the gpu a bit before the upgrade, it worked fine. The computer as a whole worked mostly fine for a week or two before the issue of not booting or whatever.

Sounds like you baked the chip. The shut downs where likely from over heats while the heatsink was loose.

For safe measure, I'd RMA the board and Cpu.

What are your full specs? Use https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ to share.

 

I would look into clearing the CMOS and checking if you are running the latest Bios version for your motherboard. That is the first step. Also ensure all bios settings are at default, no DOCP or auto OC mode's turned on etc.

im not 100% sure if that’s the psu, but I know it’s an 80+ bronze 450w evga non modular

Have you cleared Cmos prior to trying to get into the bios?

I’m not exactly sure what that means, or how to do it. I’m still unexperienced with tech, aside from watching a ton of YouTube videos

Remove the watch battery you see in the board for about 5 minutes and then set it back in.

 

BE SURE all power is disabled to the board during this time or it's current settings will not clear out.

 

You'll first remove power from the system, then remove the battery.

Once it's sat for 5 minutes, set the battery back in, restore power to the system (All In that order) and see what it does.

 

Just know you'll have to reset a few things, mainly the system clock/ time but that can also be done in the OS once you're in it.
