How many watts do I need? 2.0 (Intel 10/Nvidia 3000 series update)

Hello guys

I am making my new build with 12900k and 3090ti from what i saw it has to have minimum 800w psu so i chose Seasonic Prime PX-1300 SSR-1300PD

is that good PSU?  it has enough power and 12 years warranty and it have great users review but i wanna check here what are your experiances with it

I’m looking to upgrade to a 3060/3060ti depending on prices.
I have a 3600x cpu and a 550w 80+ bronze psu

Do I need to upgrade the psu when upgrading the gpu?

Manufacturer recommends 650w for both cards

1300W is just right
The 3090 can "jump up" to 900W
I know because I have a similar set 🙂 Only I have AX1600W (corsair)

I have a 3080 Gigabyte 10gb OC card. I bought a 1000 watt PSU RMx. Works awesome. Not one hiccup.

Thank you Jesus!

Hi! According to parts-picker this build would end up pulling 329W.. this seems VERY low - but I do not know a lot about hardware - would someone care to advise? Would be most grateful!

AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 3.7 GHz 35MB

Gigabyte B550 AORUS Elite V2
Corsair 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3600MHz CL18 Vengeance RGB PRO SL
ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 3060 OC 12GB V2

329w is pretty accurate. A 550w Tier A unit will do the job.

How much is needed for my old 2016 PC and since I suspect more parts will fail eventually, how high should I go to also futureproof it for a new mid-range PC?

Introduction:

By the popular concept of @Aniallation, who since retired from the forum, the "How many watts do I need" is still one of the most asked question by many people wanting to build a PC. By similar methodology, here a simple guideline to how much your PC would need, assuming the quality of the PSU itself is good. These numbers are estimations based off a stress maximum load, one you will likely never reach in normal use. Take these numbers as a guideline, but feel free to ask on the forum itself if you're still not sure what you need with your exact configuration.

Methodology:

CPU+GPU+50=estimated wattage, chosen worst case out of the configs

Only changes I have made is I sold the 2060 for $235 AUD and bought a Powercolor Red Devil 6700 XT for $400 second hand (it was barely used, think I scored a deal on Ebay with that).
I'm learning video editing and trying to get some cash as a high school student.
I like F1, my favourite team is Scuderia Ferrari and favourite driver is Charles Leclerc. Favourite track is Red Bull Ring in Austria.
Playing with a 1080p 60hz monitor right now, hoping to upgrade to a 1440p 144hz one soon.

Living in AU and that pisses me off since every event is late at night or early in the morning (almost every F1 race starts around 11 PM AEST time)
