What's the best cheap LED monitor under 30"?

CaptainPlanet

I am out of the loop on the monitor technology. What's the current budget king for eye health? Been using an old 19" Sharp LCD for the last 10+ years and want something that would be better for my eyes. Is it possible to do it under 200 dollars CDN?

being good for your eyes has more to do with how you configure the monitor and ambient lighting, than with the monitor itself.

that said, look for something 24 inch with at least decent colors, and set it up at about eye height, about an arm length away.

You have a ton of options.

For instance this cheap Acer 24" has a few features to help with eye strain.

Better for Your Eyes

With Acer Flicker-less technology say good-bye to annoying screen flickering, and with a blue light filter you’re shielded from eye straining blue light.

Do modern monitors use LED for backlights now? I had thought IPS is LCD.
