Upgrading to a new PC, need help to know if everything is good

Hi i'm new to the forum and i'm in need of someone who knows more then me about pc building.

I'm going to buy this system in the next few months and i wanted to know if something could be upgraded or if something is wrong

(I think pcpartpicker does a good job to help you know if something is wrong but i'd like to be 100% sure)

 

Here is the PC:

GPU: Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2060 Super Windforce 8G (GV-N206S-WF2-8GD)
CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 (3,6 GHz 6 core / 12 thread) with Stock COOLER
RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4 3200MHz C16 XMP 2.0
RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO Black DDR4-RAM 3600 MHz 2x8GB
SSD: Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1 TB NVMe M.2

SSD: Sabrent 1TB Rocket NVMe PCIe M.2
HDD: SEAGATE BARRACUDA 2 TB (ST2000DM008)
MTB: ASUS TUF X570-PLUS Gaming AMD PCIe 4.0

MTB: MSI B450 Tomahawk Max
PSU: Corsair VS550 550W
PSU: Corsair CX550 550W
CASE: Thermaltake V200 Tempered Glass Edition Mid Tower

 

Things to know:
- From Amazon the price would be around 1350€ and i don't really want to go higher then that
- I will (of course) use the SSD for Windows and heavy games, i need the HDD for other stuff
- My main focus is Gaming (COD Warzone, WOW, GTA5, FORZA HORIZON 4 and more)
- I use a 1080p 60hz monitor and another shitty monitor, i'm plannig to do two monitors: 2k 144hz FULLHD 60hz but that's really far in the future, right now i'm focusing on 1080p gaming
- I live in Italy
- I do not need to buy peripherals

I'm upgrading from this build if you want to know:

GPU: Nvidia 1050ti
CPU: Ryzen 5 1600
RAM: 8GB 1000 and something Mhz
SSD: 125 gb m.2 ssd (I don't really remember the name)

may i know what country you are from? it looks decent but we may be able to optimise it slightly. one thing for sure to change is that PSU.

ok i'll switch to a Corsair CX550, i didn't know the difference between the VS series and the CX series

You can also do the following.

Saving money

1. Get a Crucial P1 or Sabrent Rocket SSD instead of the 970 Evo

2. Get an MSI B450 Tomahawk instead of the X570 board

3. Get the non-modular CX series PSU. refer to this PSU tier list for why. the non-modular is slightly better. 

 

Upgrading

1. Try to get a 3600 kit of Ram

2. With the money saved on the SSD and Mobo, you can probably squeeze in an RTX 2070 SUPER.

Mainly that the VS is Corsair's cheapest unit. It lacks a few features, one of which is having independently regulated voltage. It's good for an office PC, but not a gaming PC.

I was also going to suggest a switch for the Motherboard to a B450 variant.  I noticed the following on the PC Part Picker list:

 

The Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS ATX AM4 Motherboard has an additional 4-pin ATX power connector but the Corsair CXM 550 W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply does not. This connector is used to supply additional 12V current to the motherboard. While the system will likely still run without it, higher current demands such as extreme overclocking or large video card current draws may require it.

 

I know the CXM550 does not have any issues with the MSI B450 Tomahawk Max motherboard since I just build a PC using those 2 parts (I also used a Ryzen 5 3600).

This doesn't mean anything, it does specifically say "extreme overclocking" which doesn't seem like a goal since OP is using the stock cooler

Yes, I understand that but if OP does not remember this and used that board with a higher end processor later then it could become a problem.   In my mind, it is safer to always match your parts up and not have this issue.  That is just me, though.  If I was building this then I would upgrade the CPU to match the full needs of the motherboard or replace the motherboard with one that matches the PSU capabilities.   That is just my humble opinion.

Thanks for the info on the PSU, and yes i'm not looking into overclocking.

Ok i switched to a Sabrent SSD 1TB Rocket NVMe PCIe M.2 and to an higher frequency ram kit (Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO Black DDR4-RAM 3600 MHz 2x 8GB).

 

I'm looking at the MSIB450 motherboard but i found multiple ones:

MSI B450 Tomahawk Max
MSI B450 GAMING PLUS MAX
MSI B450 TOMAHAWK (I'm buying everything from amazon and this one is not in stock right now)

I do not know the differences, which one should i buy

It's only a problem if he puts it under liquid nitrogen, again it says extreme overclocking. If anyone is taking a CPU that far, they're not going to forget what PSU they're using, they're going to get a new one with much tighter power delivery.

 

There's no issue created by this combination. Besides, what about higher end CPUs in motherboards that don't even have that extra 4 pin?

MSI B450 Tomahawk Max - I see this board recommended a lot and the one I used in my build.

they are all basically the same. the MAX just means it is guaranteed to come with an updated bios which supports ryzen 3000. non max boards should already be updated too.

 

But I would take the Tomahawk Max over anything else.

Ok i updated the list to a MSI B450 Tomahawk Max and now the price is about 1.220€

 

With a Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2070 Super WINDFORCE OC 8GB the price will go to 1.344 €, if the upgrade isn't really worth the 100€+ i wouldn't do it. Is there a particular reason to make the upgrade?

yes. it is a much faster GPU, totally worth 100EUR extra

The 8 pin can supply 384W if my memory serves me correct, so even an overclocked 3950X wouldn't use that. If you were doing LN2 as mentioned above then it would be different.
