GPU

Go to solution Solved by tdkid,

when picking a GPU of any size, you have to take into account your budget and your case. will the GPU you want physically fit inside the case or do you need to look for another one? most 1 or 2 slot GPUs will fit into almost any case but not always so make sure you know the specs of your case and the specs of the GPU you are looking it.

You can use CPU-Z, and also share a parts list via pcpartpicker.com since that's super easy to share and check compatibility

Maybe it would look something like this, as an example

this depends on what you are planning on doing. are you a hardcore pro gamer? or the kind of person who likes to sit back and play a game of cards or explore a vast open world? etc. etc.. me personally, I just ordered an EVGA RTX 2070 Super FTW3 ultra+ because its an overpowered card for what I want and need to I know it will handle all of what I am planning on doing and still be a high performing card years down the road so I will not need to upgrade or replace it for a long while.

but more onto this is more specs you need to take into account. like what can your monitor handle and what do you plan on doing? most here will say they are looking for a GPU that will do 4k gaming at 144hz. and most GPUs now can easily handle this but they forget that the monitor is what needs to be at that level they want so they can get what they want. my monitor is actually a TV because I have it hooked up that way so I can switch to my TV, console or computer with only having to switch the input signal but its limited to 1080p at 60hz which is fine with me.

XFX is a good brand and a rx 580 should give you solid 1080 performance. How hot is it running?

I canot suggest if its a good brand or not as I have never heard of them personally so I know nothing about them. how hot is the GPU running? you might need to download the driver controller and lower the voltage going to the card to lower the temps. don't ask me how to do that because my current GPU is from 2012/13 when I bough it inside of a prebuilt computer so it was before all the SLI and overclocking trends took off.

do you have a link or pics to the exact GPU you have because I am looking at xfx site and not seeing it at all.
