Hi i have a lenovo 36d9 motherboard i want to upgrade to a better cpu but i dont know what socket it have. Can someone help me?

Looks like it's LGA 1151v1, meaning it could possible work with 6th gen and 7th gen CPU's.

1. What do you have installed in it right now? (Open Task Manager > Performance > CPU > and see top right)

2. What kind of performance are you missing out on?
3. What are you looking to spend?

1.Intel core i3 7100 3.90ghz

2. Iam playing the crew 2 and the cpu is under the minimum at the game, gets very warm ,it allways uses to 100%.

3. 200-250 dollars maximum 275.

i5: 6600(K), 7600(K)

i7: 6700(K), 7700(K)

Those are the best options you can use in that board, Buying second hand will give the best value for you money.

so it was a 1151socket?

Yes.

But keep in mind there is 1151v1 and v2. You have v1.

Intel 6th/7th gen: 1151v1

Intel 8th/9th gen: 1151v2

1151v1 and v2 are not official names, they are just what I call them, since I think they should have called them that. They are not cross-compatible

Just checking the CPU you have - the i3 7100 - I can confirm it's 'v1', sine 6th and 7th gen are both 'v1'.
