Looking for an 1440p variable refresh rate 27"+ monitor

Hello everyone,

 

not sure if I'm doing this right (opening a new topic for this), but I'm looking for a new monitor, so I could enjoy home office more

 

I'm looking for something:

- gsync enabled (freesync with g support is completely fine, if the freq range isn't terribad)

- BIG panel size, possibly above 27"

- flat

- 1440p

- 120+ Hz

 

Colour accuracy isn't my first priority, I value high refresh rate and quick g2g more. If possible, I would go for a 16:9 model, but if ultrawide is the only option above a certain screen size, so be it.

I was thinking... something like the LG 32GK850F-B, but a 5ms VA panel for ~550 USD doesn't seem like a good deal...

 

Could someone help me out here? I feel a bit lost.

The frequency range on most GSync "capable" monitors is going to be bad; that's why they're cheaper.

Why do you want flat? A slight curve above 32" or 29" if we're talking an ultrawide is actually beneficial.

Don't just go by numbers posted by the company, look at reviews for your G2G times; if you include input lag etc, a lot of the time the numbers are extremely different.

IIRC you can get the GSync version of that monitor for the same price or less than what you've listed.

Do keep in mind that at that size you're basically getting the pixel density of a 24" 1080p monitor. Not terrible, but not great.

Freesync freq range is always going to be bad? Displayspecs says 40-144Hz. I thought that was completely fine.

The pixel density of a 24" 1080p monitor is also OK for me, going 4k would be also much more expensive.

The reason I'm trying to find a flat panel is, that I watch a lot of videos and I'm not always sitting at the same distance from the monitor. A curved panel just looks weird.

There are only 2 monitors bigger than 27" in the list, the LG 32GK650G-B for ~430 USD, and the LG 32GK850G-B for ~720. So I was on a good track after all!

Or is something wrong with the 650G? Am I looking for a product which is not really a priority at the manufacturers? Would an ultrawide be a better option?

I'd get the 32GK650G. I personally would look at ultra wide, up to you really. I personally have gone 34" IPS UW.

I switched from 2x 24" panels to a single UW as well, if you want UW you will have to sacrifice the high refresh rate to stay in budget. Mid-range gaming is more high refresh rate 1080p or mid range refresh rate 1440p.
